Services Provided By Michael Robinson Associates
The base core of our practice is Quantity Surveying in the traditional sense of providing cost management and cost planning as a member of the design team from inception to completion.
In this role, we provide the following services:
- preliminary construction and development cost advice;
- comparative cost benefit analysis of land utilisation;
- feasibility studies, income and viability projections;
- budgets estimates, cost planning and advice on contract documentation;
- methods of tendering and conformity with international requirements;
- preparation of bills of quantities and tender (bidding) documentation;
- advice on tender (bidding) procedures and contract implementation.
In addition to the above services, we provide project management and contract administration services for construction projects.
Ideally, our services are more fully utilized when we are involved at the initial planning stage. At this stage, the cost planning process will be developed in the form of elemental analysis and cost comparisons of all components of the building or development, and together with evaluation of materials and designs in collaboration with Architects and Engineers will evolve the production of a working cost plan of the designed project.
This methodology is adaptable to suit negotiated, cost plus or any other specific form of contract depending on the particular need of the project.
During the construction phase we provide, but is not limited to, the following ‘post contract’ services:
- monitor expenditures relative to budgets;
- provide interim valuations and certification for payments to Contractors;
- agree and adjust cost fluctuations;
- prepare periodic cost reports or financial statements and forecasts;
- measured and prepare and agree final accounts with main and sub-contractors.
Based on the proceedings and in response to our clients needs, utilising our accumulated experience and cost data, we also provide valuation and allied services, which includes valuation and reports for insurance replacement and market valuations.
As chartered quantity surveyors, we are geared to provide service in project management and project implementation for building and development projects. Our specialize training and experience in valuation of landed property, peril damage assessment and evaluation places us at the forefront in terms of assessing, negotiating and agreeing insurance claims for a variety of building and equipment losses.
The fees for our professional services are quite competitive and are based on our in-house standard charges and are usually expressed as a percentage of the value of work. In some cases fees shall be time-related or may be on a lump sum basis adapted to the requirements of the client or may be negotiated where the need arises.
